Terms of Service
Last updated: October 5, 2026
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form an agreement between you and Alterra Group LLC (“Alterra,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using https://www.meetalterra.com (the “Site”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
2. About Alterra
Alterra Group LLC is a New Jersey limited liability company registered as an investment adviser with the State of New Jersey (CRD No. 339331). Registration does not imply a certain level of skill or training. Additional information about Alterra is available on the SEC's Investment Adviser Public Disclosure website at www.adviserinfo.sec.gov. Alterra is not a bank or lender.
3. These Terms cover the website — the Investment Advisory Agreement covers the advisory relationship
These Terms govern your use of the Site. If you become a client and sign our Investment Advisory Agreement (the “IAA”), the IAA governs your advisory relationship with us. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the IAA, the IAA controls.
4. No personalized advice on this Site
Content on the Site — including articles, illustrations, rate information, and calculators — is for educational and informational purposes only. It is not personalized investment, tax, legal, or accounting advice, and your use of the Site does not create an adviser-client relationship.
Nothing on the Site constitutes an offer to provide investment advisory services in any jurisdiction where Alterra is not registered or exempt from registration. Calculations on the Site, including the margin-call calculator, are illustrative only and are based on the numbers you enter; actual margin requirements are set by your broker or custodian.
5. Fees described on the Site
The Site describes our standard advisory fee of 0.50% per year. Actual advisory fees range from 0.00% to 1.00% of assets under management, negotiated on a per-client basis as set forth in the fee schedule to the IAA. The IAA controls in all cases.
6. Accounts and security
Certain areas of the Site (the “Alterra Platform”) may require you to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. We will never ask for your brokerage portal password. Notify us promptly at the contact address below if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Site. Among other things, you will not: attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to the Site or its systems; harvest or scrape content except through normal search-engine indexing; use the Site for any unlawful purpose; or misrepresent your affiliation with Alterra.
8. Intellectual property
The Site and its contents — including text, graphics, calculators, and design — are owned by Alterra or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may view and print pages for personal, non-commercial use. Any other use, including reproduction or redistribution, requires our prior written permission.
9. Third-party links and services
The Site may link to third-party websites, including your broker or custodian. We are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party sites. Your relationship with your broker or custodian is governed solely by your agreement with them.
10. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy describes how we handle information collected through the Site. Advisory clients also receive the privacy notices required under SEC Regulation S-P, as described in the IAA.
11. Disclaimers
The Site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
All investments involve risk, including the possible loss of principal. Options strategies involve additional risks, described in our Form ADV Part 2A. Past performance is no guarantee of future results, and any rates, projections, or illustrative calculations on the Site are not guarantees of future performance or available execution levels.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Alterra will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Site, regardless of the theory of liability. Nothing in these Terms limits or waives any rights you may have under federal or state securities laws.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without cause. Termination of Site access does not terminate the IAA; termination of the advisory relationship is governed solely by the IAA.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflicts-of-law principles, and subject to applicable federal and state securities laws.
15. Disputes
Any controversy, dispute, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms will be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Commercial Arbitration Rules, before a single arbitrator experienced in securities and investment advisory matters. The arbitration will be held in New Jersey, or in your state of residence if you are a client. Each party may bring claims only in an individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, consolidated, or representative proceeding. The prevailing party will be entitled to recover reasonable attorneys' fees and costs. By agreeing to arbitration you give up the right to sue in court, including the right to a jury trial. Nothing in this section limits your rights under federal or state securities laws.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for significant changes, post a prominent notice on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
17. General
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Alterra regarding your use of the Site, subject to Section 3.
