Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 9, 2026
This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) applies to https://www.meetalterra.com and Alterra Group (“we,” “us,” “our”). It describes what information we collect through our website and how we use it. By using our website, you consent to the practices described in this Policy.
A note for advisory clients. If you become a client of Alterra Group, you will receive a separate privacy notice under SEC Regulation S-P when your account is opened. That notice — not this Policy — governs how we handle your nonpublic personal information as a client. This Policy covers visitors to our website.
Information we collect
We collect two kinds of information:
- Information you provide voluntarily — such as your first and last name, email address, phone number, state of residency, brokerage, and preferred method of contact when you submit our contact form or otherwise inquire about our services. We use it to respond to you and to provide information you request.
- Information collected automatically — such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited, access times, and the website that referred you. We use Google Search Console to understand which search queries bring visitors to our site and to analyze website traffic (impressions, clicks, and pages viewed). This analytics data is aggregated; it tells us what people searched, not who they are.
We use the information we collect to operate the website, respond to inquiries, and understand which content visitors find useful.
Sharing of information
We do not sell, rent, or lease our customer lists to third parties.
We may share data with trusted service providers who help us operate the website, such as hosting, analytics, and form-processing providers. They may use your information only to provide those services to us and are required to keep it confidential.
We may disclose your information without notice if required by law, or in the good-faith belief that disclosure is necessary to: (a) comply with legal process served on us or our site; (b) protect and defend our rights or property; or (c) protect the personal safety of our users or the public.
Cookies
Our website may use cookies — small text files placed on your device by a web page server — to remember your preferences and improve your experience. Cookies cannot run programs or deliver viruses. You can set your browser to decline cookies, though some interactive features may not work fully without them.
Links to other sites
Our website contains links to other sites. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to be aware when you leave our site and to read the privacy statements of any site that collects your personal information.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure, including encryption (such as SSL/TLS) when information is transmitted. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Right to deletion
Subject to the exceptions below, on receipt of a verifiable request from you, we will delete your personal information from our records and direct our service providers to delete it from theirs.
We may be unable to delete your information where necessary to:
- complete a transaction or provide a service you requested, or otherwise perform a contract between you and us;
- detect security incidents or protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity;
- comply with a legal obligation, including the recordkeeping requirements of federal and state securities laws;
- enable internal uses reasonably aligned with your expectations based on your relationship with us; or
- otherwise use your information internally in a lawful manner consistent with the context in which you provided it.
Children under thirteen
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you are under 13, please ask a parent or guardian before using this website.
Email communications
We may contact you by email with announcements or information related to our services. If you receive promotional emails from us, you may opt out by clicking the unsubscribe link in the email.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time — for example, when our services, data practices, or the law change. When changes are significant, we will notify you by email or by posting a prominent notice on our website. Your continued use of the website after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
